Opening Summary Narrative

The simplest way to understand the Lucky Boy ownership history is to start with Ed Filippini. In 1943, Ed is shown as the owner of the Lucky Boy, Lucky Boy #1, and Lucky Boy #2 claims.

After Ed, the claims were shown as passing into three equal family shares: Martin Filippini, Joe Filippini, and Dan Filippini each held one-third. When Martin's estate was distributed in 1951, his one-third was divided among family members. That left the claims in four main pieces: Joe with 5/12, Dan with 5/12, Henry with 1/12, and Anna with 1/12.

From there, the ownership is easiest to read as two halves. The first half is the Joe survivor branch. Joe's 5/12 interest passed through his estate to Julia, Joanna, Angie, Janice, and Josephine. Later estate distributions and Josephine's quitclaim divided those interests among the current Joe-branch owners. Anna's 1/12 interest was also distributed into this side of the ownership, bringing this branch to a total of 50%.

The second half is the Henry / Dan / John branch. Dan's 5/12 interest and Henry's 1/12 interest are shown as moving through John Filippini, Henry Filippini Jr., JJJ&B, LLC, and then the Filippini Family Trust. Today, this side is shown as 45.83% held by the Filippini Family Trust, with the remaining 4.17% divided equally among Henry Jr.'s five heirs.

In plain terms: Ed owned the claims first; after Ed, the family ownership split; later probate orders and quitclaim deeds divided those shares into the current individual and trust interests shown below. The proof links on this page let a reader click through to the recorded documents behind each step.

Simple explanation to use in conversation: The Lucky Boy claims started with Ed Filippini. After Ed, the claims split among Dan, Martin, and Joe. Martin's share was later distributed so that Joe and Dan each held 5/12, while Henry and Anna each held 1/12. Joe's side was then divided through later family estates and Josephine's quitclaim, totaling 50%. The other 50% is shown through the Henry/Dan/John/JJJ&B line, with 11/24 now in the Filippini Family Trust and the remaining 1/24 split among Henry Jr.'s heirs.
